Silver ions inhibit bacteria growth. By introducing
silver ions into the spa water, the FreshWater Ag+ continuous silver
ion purifier powerfully inhibits bacteria growth. The continuous
silver residual throughout the spa (including surface areas and
in the plumbing lines) guards against bacteria growth or propagation.
Silver is both a bacteriostat - it inhibits the growth of bacteria
from ever getting started, and in some cases can act as a bacteriocide
- when combined with MPS or chlorine, bacteria are killed on contact.
